A bright New England winter day is the best time to appreciate the sheer beauty of a finely crafted ice sculpture. This event will occur in Concord on January 27th and 28th. It will take place on the New Hampshire State House lawn.
On Saturday, in the Concord Winter Fest, visitors can witness beautiful ice-carving demonstrations accomplished by some of NH’s most skilled ice artists. Illuminated, colorful LED lights are used in the ice blocks to create a stunning display.
The official competition is set to take place from 11:00 AM to the following day’s 3:00 PM. After the completion of the competition, the award ceremony is scheduled for 3:15.
You can listen to live music, treat yourself to free hot chocolate and s’mores, and play corn hole while watching the ice sculptors work. The duration of the snow sculpting competition is 48 hours. It starts from noon on Saturday the 27th until Sunday the 29th. Visitors can stay for the entire contest or come on Monday to view the completed snow sculptures.
After the sun sets, the sculptures will be illuminated each night and displayed for one week. There is no cost to join this event. It is held at Great Glen Trails/Mt. Cross-country attractions like snow coach rides, skiing, or tubing are also available.

The Nansen Ski Club is one of the oldest in America and has worked without interruption since its establishment in 1872. The last weekend of January 2024 is when the festivities of this annual winter carnival will commence with the Art Sled Rally event.
